My story so far.......

Welcome, I am Naomi Vincent and I live in the beautiful remote village of Corscombe, in Dorset. I live here with my husband & 3 children, who have shown me utmost support & encouragement throughout my cakey adventure.

I have been baking and cooking for the past 23 years. I have been lucky enough to have been trained and taught by some very special bakers and chefs in my career in catering. My passion for baking began when I was 12 years old. I was guided through the tricks of the trade and shown the ways of the baking world by our very good neighbour of my childhood home in Osmington Village, Dorset. Her name was Barbara leigh, and she was Chair to Warehams WI (upto 1995). I earnt my weekends and school holiday pocket money learning to create special and tradition cakes, and mastered the arts of whisking, mixing and egg cracking and my most favourite, buttercreaming!!

I then begun working in the hospitality trade around weymouth & Osmington in Dorset, and mostly in the kitchen again learning the ways of food prep and creating those traditional recipes, taught by some very experienced chefs, from Army trained to traditional country style 'A La Carte' menus. I now have taken baking and cooking into my role as a mum and wife, which is where I found myself making our childrens birthday cakes, which expanded to my nieces cakes, then my god-children, then others would ask if I would make their childrens cakes and so on. It became something I enjoyed to do and the idea for my own small business was all I could think of. With each cake I created I would find a challenge and learn from it, this built my confidence more and more and eventually I was in full swing!

I am also a free-lanced artist and Crocheter have qualified in a Visual Arts Diploma. My experience in hosting and attend exhibitions gave me confidence to then run a local craft fayre where I could sell my baked goods.

With this artistic skill I have found a love in creating beautifully designed cakes. I regulary challenge myself on any design for friends, family and of course my childrens have the best demands for their cakes!

I continue with a bulging diary of orders and have relished in the challenges I have concurred for 2015 and look forward to the new adventures for 2016.

I look forward to any feed back.

and Thankyou for taking the time to read,

Nai
